The point trying to be made, of course, that Kerry flip-flops on the issues. Now here's the TRUTH:

Kerry voted "No" on the $87 billion dollar proposal because he opposed the method of financing it. The bill called to draw on funds from American taxpayers to finance operations in Iraq while Kerry supported drawing on revenues from oil production in Iraq. Cut and dry: Kerry supported using their money to pay for the war, not our money. The billions of dollars we're pouring into this country shouldn't be paid from our pockets but theirs. Kerry was not willing to abandon our troops but was also unwilling to pass flawed legislation. What the Republicans characterize as a flip-flop is in fact, not one at all. Two different issues, two different scenarios, two different opinions. And they say the Democrats play dirty politics.

The Democrats do it. The Republicans do it.

There's this psychological process called cognitive dissonance. When our brain processes a piece of information (even factual information with a sound logical basis), sometimes we refuse to accept it because it does not conform to our preset beliefs and ideologies.

The Democrats like to blame the "conservative media" for something they don't want to hear. The Republicans like to blame the "liberal media" for something they don't want to hear. Folks! It's just a big fucking excuse for you to live in your ideological world and prevent you from seeing the truth.

Now I'm usually pretty level-headed about politics and am very close to the middle (I lean to the left a bit). But it irks me beyond reason for people to try to justify Bush's "Christian Jihadist" policies by blaming the "liberal media." Yeah! I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that Bush is doing a horrible job as President. I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that Bush tainted American diplomatic status the way Clinton tainted the honor of the Office. I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that, despite the mandate in our Constitution to separate church and state, Bush has allowed his religious ideologies to prevent the progress of science. I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that while the Republicans are supposed to stand for fiscal responsibility and small government, Bush's fiscally irresponsible policies have pushed us into our largest ever economic deficit and have bit by bit stripped us of our civil liberties. I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact that the only policies Bush supports are those that are Pro-Bush.

So I just want to shout a big "FUCK YOU!" to those idiots (Democrats and Republicans alike, among others) who let their fanatical beliefs cloud their judgment and prevent them from seeing solid FACTS for what they are.

06:51 pm - Warning: Introspective Bullshit Ahead

Last night I got home and for probably the first time in forever I started to feel depressed. I'm usually a really happy guy but if enough bad shit happens in a day happens or if I hang around enough other depressed people it can really get me down. I'm not feeling it so much know, but last night I was thinking about what and how I wanted to say some stuff and there's a lot I'd like to get off my chest. Now that I'm not exhausted I can prolly do a better job at that.

First and foremost I don't plan on going to any parties any time soon. I'm probably going to go back just to get my drinks back, but before anyone else is even there. The last thing I need is to be put down and bitched at by frienemies.

Now I'm usually good at getting what I want. Sometimes I can just work for it, sometimes I can convince people and sometimes it involves a tad bit of manipulation. But now there's something I want that I know I could never have...and that just makes it all the more enticing. And it's eating me up inside knowing I can't. And every day I'm painfully reminded of what I can never have.

So my friends, Tom Soares wants to have some alone time and that he shall receive. If you're calling me and I'm not answering...it's not because I'm not there...it's because I don't want to talk to you. If you don't see me online...it's not because I'm not logged on...it's because I'm blocking you. If you comment on my livejournal and I don't want you to, the next day you might see it deleted. And if you are able to reach me, if you are able to talk to me online, if you are able to comment...congradulations, I'm not so oversaturated with you that I want to keep my distance for a while.

I'm taking summer classes and for the first time ever I'm actually doing everything on time and being responsible about it. I already read like 3 chapters out of both my marketing and management books before they even started. Oh yeah...here was my schedule for today...

Library for about 4 or 5 hours to watch lectures and study
Home - picked up stuff, cleaned around a bit, waited for my little brother to come home, then paid some bills and studied some more

And I wake up early to do this same sorta thing every day. Who or what has possessed me?! lol...Perhaps it is my former self taking a stand...

I've been at Ryan's house a lot recently but I don't really drink anything. Usually I just smoke (I know Rob...bad...when I get rich I'll just pay for a lung transplant :-) ) Tonight I did down a pretty big bottle of melon ball stuff...it's really good but I don't really feel anything. I didn't really look at the label but I bet its non-alcoholic lol.
